200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar

For the Cocktail (produces 850ml, enough for 10)

Whole cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

To prepare the Syrup: Combine the listed ingredients into a pan, heat until it reaches a gentle boil, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Then, remove from the heat allowing it to cool fully. Transfer to a sterilised bottle, close it and store in the fridge, it can be stored for around one month.

For the Premix: Combine the specified liquid ingredients into a sizeable container, allow it to infuse for 60 minutes, then pass it through best through cheesecloth, to ensure it's completely strained.

For serving: Measure 85ml from the cocktail base to a stirring glass packed with ice, and stir lightly for a minute until cold. Filter into a chilled martini glass or similar, top with the cranberries and complete it using a brief mist of mandarin oil over the top.
