The star has given the full amount of his twenty-five thousand pound honor winnings to the trust for venues, which works to preserve the UK's small music venues.

Fender was presented with the prize on mid-October as his latest record the album was named the outstanding release of the last 12 months.

He has opted to hand the money over to the trust, in appreciation of the crucial part small stages had in his initial steps.

"I couldn't be pursuing what I am doing today if it wasn't for all the shows I did around the North East, and further afield, when I was beginning," stated Sam Fender. "These locations are legendary, but they are in difficulty."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these locations have shut down – approximately 16 percent of the total UK scene.

In the last year, well-known musicians like Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the MVT in its attempts to keep the scene afloat, by including a modest fee to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.

Sam Fender also joined in, raising over £100k on his 2024 arena tour to assist 38 small stages across Britain.

The money supported venues that were dealing with possible closure due to issues stemming from flooding, fires and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and neighbor objections.

Some locations were granted financial assistance in modernizing facilities and technical equipment that directly benefitted performers and concertgoers.

"The notion that revenue from shows in major spaces supports the smaller venues, where it kicks off for artists like me, is just logical," the star has said.

He is not the first artist to give his award prize money to charitable organizations.

Back when the band received the trophy in the year 1996 for their release the album, frontman the singer announced that the band would give their cash to the organization War Child.

In 2002, musician the artist divided her award across a few good causes, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.

"Additionally, I gave a grand to the center, to their gymnastics program, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they required updated gear," Ms Dynamite explained to the media.

Previously, they gave their funds to the youth organization that supported their band, as well as other grassroots music organisations.

And the 1994 recipients the group gave their prize to a multiple sclerosis charity after a friend was found to have the disease.

"Winning was sufficient," remarked vocalist the singer. "The money was the cherry on top but we didn't need the extra, because we had the cake. So our winning touched another person's life."

In the past week, the Music Venues Trust shared it had saved several local spots in the South East, by transferring them to public stewardship.

The Joiners in Southampton and the second in the city were acquired under the Own Our Venues program, which is funded by Arts Council England and supporters who acquire "stakes" in the properties.
